Jamaine Ortiz Dominates with Fourth-Round Knockout in Orlando

Jamaine “The Technician” Ortiz bounced back with a stunning victory on Friday night, knocking out veteran boxer Cristian Mino in the fourth round of their light welterweight bout in Orlando, Florida.

Ortiz, 28, showcased his power and skill, dropping Mino four times before the referee stopped the fight at 2:00 of the fourth round. The Massachusetts native’s performance was a clear statement following his controversial loss to WBO champion Teofimo Lopez in February.

From the opening bell, Ortiz took control. He scored knockdowns in each round, using a combination of body shots and powerful hooks. In the decisive fourth round, Ortiz unleashed a flurry of punches, finishing with two left hands that sent Mino to the canvas for the final time.

”I wasn’t going to leave it to the judges this time,” Ortiz said, referring to his disputed loss to Lopez.

The fight wasn’t without controversy. Ortiz used some questionable tactics, including rabbit punches and shouldering. Mino retaliated in the fourth round with a body slam, resulting in a point deduction.

After his victory, Ortiz called out several 140-pound champions, including Jose Valenzuela, Liam Paro, and Teofimo Lopez. His dominant performance may put him back in contention for a title shot.

Some observers noted Ortiz’s size advantage over Mino, suggesting he could potentially move up to welterweight or junior middleweight divisions in the future.

This win marks a significant rebound for Ortiz, who improves his record to 18-2-1 with 9 knockouts. Mino’s record falls to 24-10-2.
